Operation Purpose and Results

It is aimed to increase the employability of women by means of vocational trainings, entrepreneurship trainings and consultancy for the garment sector, which is rapidly growing in Giresun and Ordu. The activities of the project were carried out in Giresun and Ordu and completed on 20 September 2017 in three main axes:

  • Increasing the employability of women through entrepreneurship trainings and consultancy through vocational trainings for the garment sector;
  • Increasing the awareness of the importance of women's labor market participation in Turkey through visibility and communication activities
  • Developing a network of communication among sectoral actors and introducing international good practices through this network.
  • As outputs; 293 women have benefited from the trainings established in Giresun Public Education Center, Fatsa Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Fatsa Vocational High School of Ordu University. In addition to this, 406 women have attended Entrepreneurship Training, 391 women have attended Basic Computer Training and 397 women received guidance and counseling services.

    A strategic plan has been prepared for the years 2017-2022. Business network communication strategy has been prepared for garment sector. 3 informative meetings were held for 800 women. Study visits to Italy and France were organized. National strategy meetings were held in Ordu, Giresun and Istanbul. 10 factory managers were trained. Women entrepreneurship report is prepared.
