Interventions and Estimated Results:

The purpose of this Project is to increase quality of and access to early childhood education (ECE) services for 0-to-6-year-old children especially in the most vulnerable communities. The Project will be implemented in 20 provinces, including: Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Aydın, Bitlis, Bursa, Diyarbakır, Erzurum, Gaziantep, İstanbul, İzmir, Kastamonu, Konya, Manisa, Mardin, Samsun, Şanlıurfa, Tekirdağ, Trabzon and Van.

The target groups include: 0-to-6-year-old children and their parents/caregivers living especially in the most vulnerable communities with limited / without access to ECE services; and ECE teachers, school principals and other ECE service providers.

The duration of the Project is 36 months and expected results from the Project are as follows;

Result 1: ECE services are expanded for 0-6-year-old children, especially for the most vulnerable communities.

Result 2: The quality of ECE services is improved based on revised curriculum, materials and national standards.

Result 3: Families’ beliefs and attitudes regarding the quality and value of ECE services, especially in the most vulnerable communities, is positively changed.

Result 4: A conducive environment for increased access to quality ECE services is promoted by revised ECE legislation.

The Contract was signed on September 28, 2020 and
